Waiver & Hours of Operation
Thunderstruck will operate under FAA Class II Rockets rules, with the following airspace allowances:
- 16,000′ MSL standing, sunrise-to-sunset
- 22,000′ MSL windows on-demand
Rocketry Vendors
We’ll have rocketry vendors on-site to fulfill your kit and propellant needs. As they confirm attendance, we’ll add them here.
Certifications
Tripoli Indiana will have a prefect and two TAP members on hand for Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 certifications, and Indiana Rocketry has an L3CC available for those pursuing the NAR L3 route. Several additional certifying authorities from other clubs will be on hand as well. New to rocketry and just wanting to certify? Indiana Rocketry has 29mm hardware and small reloads on hand for certification attempts; get in touch with our prefect for details!
T-Shirts & Raffles
Indiana Rocketry will be printing two-color t-shirts for the event this year; we’ll unveil the design shortly. All merchandise items (including raffle tickets) are available for pre-order when you register to fly; add them to your cart to guarantee availability, as last year’s shirts were gone almost immediately! In addition to the normal raffle of rocket-related stuff, we’ll also be conducting a 50/50 raffle on site both days, so come prepared.
Food Vendor
The Boy Scouts have confirmed their presence for this year’s event as our food vendor; they’ll be serving the same excellent grilled fare at reasonable prices. Bring cash!
Media Coverage
ROCKETS Magazine was on-hand for Thunderstruck 2010, performing photo and video duty. Their DVD teaser contains some great clips from that event. All photos are on their website for purchase, along with the DVD set. Photographers will be covering Thunderstruck 2012 for future inclusion in an article, as well, so get your camera faces ready!
