With a wet end to April, the field was still empty to squeeze one last high power launch in. And what a launch it was – Tripoli Indiana Rocketry flyers put up everything from 1/2As to N5800s over the course of two days of spring flying.

With rain the day before the launch, our March 2011 event was a muddy mess. Nonetheless, a few die-hard Indiana Rocketry flyers were out to put a few birds in the air.

The February 2011 commercial rocket flying day saw lots of great flights, with low winds and clear skies. Check out the first dump of photos, as well as a great video compilation from Justin Farrand, in the gallery below.

USLI is an educational outreach program backed by NASA to engage university students in the design and construction of real, reusable flight vehicles designed around specific payload and performance goals. Purdue’s nascent USLI team needed to fly their sub-scale test vehicle before their design review, and Tripoli Indiana was happy to provide launch support duties for the weekend.

Tripoli Indiana returned to the Ash Grove field for another great day of winter flying on Sunday, January 16th.

The December 2010 launch was pushed back a week to accommodate a huge snowstorm that blew through on the planned weekend.  And, like magic, the rescheduled weekend dawned crystal clear and calm — a perfect day to fly some rockets!  Fliers came from as far as southern Illinois and Michigan to put birds in the air.

Our season opener at Ash Grove was a flurry of activity, despite some light rain on Saturday. Click through to see more photos from the day.
